Vattenfall Heat initiated a program to accelerate its digital transformation with the launch of the Route to Digital initiative.
Challenges are different across geographies and markets but we recognise that the opportunities offered by digital technologies are huge. Some of the projects and initiatives currently under development are:
- InControl, our "All-In-One Platform" enabling Heat B2B customers to integrate, visualise, analyse and report their energy use and self-generation, environmental footprint and energy efficiency in an easy way for one or multiple buildings. Data from various sources, including other utilities, can also be integrated.
- SEED, our B2C energy app that enables customers with heat meters and with heat allocators to visualise, analyse, and act on their energy use. It also integrates data from other sources, such as: other utilities, smoke detectors, humidity and temperature sensors.
- Use of drones and thermography techniques for inspection purposes, assessment of energy efficiency in buildings, and route/staff dispatch planning.
- Development of statistical and thermodynamic models to enable our teams to monitor the performance of networks and assets and predict when maintenance is necessary.
