We are now looking for HSE manager to develop and establish best practice HSE management covering all our business operations including construction and operations.
As HSE Manager for our Heat UK business you will be expected to take a leading role in further developing the overall Health & Safety Culture Program, translate them into HSE goals towards achieving our goal of zero injuries and no work related ill-health (Goal Zero). To improve HSE performance standards you will continuously lead evaluations and critical analysis of data and metrics. This role will be the main contact of Vattenfall Heat UK to the Health & Safety team of the Vattenfall Heat business.
Key responsibilities will include:
Internal alignment and main contact of the HSE activity plan of Vattenfall Heat UK (incl. controlling), in accordance to the targets and strategy of Vattenfall Heat Business.
HSE knowledge transfer and alignment across whole organization
Establish and embed best practice HSE management and governance system
Promotion of HSE culture and improved HSE performance standards
Participation in the continuous improvement of the Health and Safety program
Assure regulatory compliance
Main HSE support to ongoing projects related to construction, engineering and operations departments
Implementation and alignment of all CDM requirements related to all projects, roles and responsibilities
Full control, improvement and management of the integrated management system
Provide positive challenge to peers across the business
Set and manage business HSE KPIs
Carry out audits at Vattenfall and Contractor sites
To be successful we believe that you have the following experience:

You will be organised and diligent – great at planning anything from engaging with internal and external stakeholders, be able to deliver in short deadlines and have a can-do attitude. You should have excellent communication skills and ability to provide positive challenge across the business. As this is a fast-paced and entrepreneurial team you will be comfortable working both in this kind of dynamic environment but also able to function in a large business with large business processes.
University/ College Engineering (Master) or equivalent with additional certification in CDM, NEBOSH/ NVQL4 or equivalent
You have at least 8 years’ experience in all relevant HSE fields including understanding of safety in design, process as well as occupational safety experience on (large) construction sites
You have experience with developing and maintaining management systems according to standards such as ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and/or ISO 9001.
Strong leadership skills to work at the management team level
Experience with working at Safety Excellence level
Proven practice in managing and developing direct reports
Knowledge of Energy and/or Oil and Gas industry has a preference
Excellent understanding of regulations such as CDM, DSEAR, COSHH

The position is based in our London office as well as travel to Edinburgh when required. Additional travel within Europe is also expected.
