Gerry McDonnell

Gerry is the Head of Engineering for the Scotland region, overseeing a team responsible for managing technical scopes throughout the entire project life cycle. This includes the delivery of feasibility studies, design development, and performance management support in operations.

Gerry has a degree in mechanical engineering and is now a chartered engineer with the IMechE. He entered the district heating sector in 2017, joining Vattenfall in 2022.

Gerry’s focus is to ensure district heating systems are designed and commissioned to deliver high performance; enabling the integration of low carbon heat sources and ensuring costs to customers can remain as low as possible.
