Jon Sankey

Jon Sankey is Head of Business Development in Bristol where we are delivering a city-wide heat network as part of the Bristol City Leap partnership. He brings a wealth of expertise to his role, having previously worked in Bristol City Council's ground-breaking heat network team which made significant progress in decarbonising the city. 

Often seen riding his bike around Bristol from meetings to site visit, Jon is responsible for driving the city’s uptake of heat networks, connecting new and existing residential, community and commercial buildings. He is focused on accelerating the build-out of the Bristol heat network and decarbonising additional areas of Bristol, providing fairly priced, low carbon heat to more people. 

Born and still living in the city, Jon acts as a key interface between Bristol City Leap and our partnership with Ameresco, the Council and, most importantly, the local community.  

Jon is a highly skilled strategy and innovation manager, with a proven track record in ideation, project management and leadership. With extensive commercial experience in the finance and energy sectors, he is known for his analytical, critical and adaptable approach.

Beyond his professional achievements, Jon is passionate about Bristol, equality, the environment and the energy transition. He is a member of the Bristol Advisory Committee on Climate Change and is Trustee Treasurer at local charity North Bristol Advice Centre.
