Paul Steen

Paul Steen, a geotechnical and civil engineering graduate, is Head of Business Development North at Vattenfall. In this role, he draws on his wealth of experience spanning multiple sectors, from ports and harbours to buildings, infrastructure and district heating. 
 
Paul is responsible for the delivery of our district heat strategy for the north, building partnerships with existing and new customers, and working collaboratively with key community stakeholders to identify solutions that are aligned with our partners’ needs and our focus on decarbonising heat. 

Previously he spent over 20 years at Ramboll in various roles, most notably as Director and Head of the UK District Energy Department.  He has worked across the strategic master planning stages through to construction and commissioning.   
 
Paul is passionate about developing young people in the district heat business, committed to taking on university interns and giving them the skills, experience and time to support the development of our industry’s next generation of talent.
