Ruth Ginever

Ruth is Head of Engineering for Major Projects, responsible for the technical solution throughout the full life cycle of each Major Project across our three regions. 

The Major Projects team focuses on shaping and delivering our largest and most complex energy infrastructure projects. In her role, Ruth ensures robust technical execution —ensuring our customer-focussed engineering solutions have safely embedded in, enabling on-time, within-budget execution, to the right technical and quality standards. Ruth is responsible for the engineering strategy and procedures for the Major Projects team and manages our expert engineering support team for Major Projects consisting of Process, Civil, Instrumentation & Controls, Electrical and Mechanical Engineers.   

Operating across all regions, Ruth brings a wealth of experience in engineering leadership and management from high complexity and regulated industries, including manufacturing, aerospace and automotive. Her career includes leadership of engineering teams from 15 to 300 and experience in managing engineering outsource providers and partners.  

A Charted Mechanical Engineer with the Institute of Mechanical Engineers, Ruth joined Vattenfall as International Discipline Engineering Manager in 2023 before transitioning to her current role in 2025.  

Ruth supports bringing diverse skills sets into engineering careers and is a member of the Engineering & Manufacturing Route Panel for Skills England, which is a UK Government body tasked with working with partners to create better skills for jobs, enabling growth and opportunity. In this role, Ruth brings an employers’ perspective into the development of apprenticeships, T-Levels and other Technical Qualifications.
