Brent Cross Town awards £50,000 Community Fund
The recipients of Brent Cross Town’s 2025 Community Fund have been announced, with a total of £50,000 being awarded to six projects operating in the London Borough of Barnet.
Brent Cross Town, which is being delivered by Related Argent and Barnet Council, provided individual grants ranging from £3,000 to £10,000, in partnership with Vattenfall, the new park town’s energy partner.
The Fund continues its commitment to supporting both new and well-established community initiatives. In response to the notable skills gap present in London and across the UK, the 2025 programme has placed a particular emphasis on projects centred around employment, skills development, training, and education.
The winning projects were all voted for by the local community via an online poll managed by engagement and fundraising platform ActionFunder.
Alina Gheorghiu-Currie, Director of Heat Networks – London, said:
“Congratulations to all the winners of this year’s Brent Cross Town Community Fund. Supporting local people and projects is really important for Vattenfall, and the fund has already shown how investing in local initiatives and facilities strengthens the community for the long-term. We’re excited to see the positive impact these projects will have and to continue working together to help Brent Cross Town thrive.”
Morwenna Hall, Executive Director and COO at Related Argent, commented:
“At Brent Cross Town, we believe it is vital to continue empowering our local community by equipping them with the tools to support their own careers and job prospects. By inviting residents to vote for the initiatives that matter most to them, we ensure that the Fund reflects genuine local priorities and gives everyone a voice in shaping our town’s future. We look forward to seeing the positive impact this year’s organisations will have, building on the fantastic successes we’ve witnessed in previous years.”
Councillor Anne Clarke, Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure, Arts & Sport, said:
“Thank you to everyone who applied for the 2025 Brent Cross Town Community Fund and to those who voted for their favourite projects. We received more applications this year than ever before and I’m delighted to see all the amazing initiatives which help deliver skills and create employment and training opportunities across Barnet. Well done to our winners, we look forward to seeing your work make a difference.”
The six projects awarded grant funding are:
- Scope: Funding will provide personalised, flexible support to disabled people in Barnet, to help them secure, keep and progress through employment.
- RC Vision CIC: RC Vision will bring radio-controlled racing to help young people learn the skills required for the jobs of tomorrow in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
