Dominic Barton

Dom leads the Vattenfall heat network team in Bristol and joined in 2023 after the acquisition of the heat network portfolio from Bristol City Council.  His team is responsible for the growth and safe operation of the network – including connecting new customers and supplying them with low carbon heat. A critical part of his role is engagement with Vattenfall’s strategic partners in the Bristol City Leap joint venture, Bristol City Council and Ameresco.  

Prior to joining Vattenfall, Dom worked in the UK low carbon energy sector for over 15 years across project development, delivery and operational leadership roles. He has held senior roles for a number of leading UK heat network owner operators. During this time, he supported “pathfinder” activity across the heat network sector, working with industry partners and stakeholders to develop the early-stage industry regulatory models which now form the basis of incoming sector regulation.
